CLiF Books at the Pope Memorial Library
We are absolutely delighted to see our new books on display, courtesy of the Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) Our award of their Rural Library Grant has provided our library with over 100 new books for children; picture books, science books, biographies, graphic novels and great fiction for 8-12 year olds. Come in and start reading. Don’t have a library card. No problem. We’ll get you set up in a jiffy. One card is good for the whole family. See you at the library.

What’s New ?

We are thrilled to share exciting news. The Pope Memorial Library has been awarded The Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) Rural Library Grant. Our sincere thanks to the Foundation for making this grant possible to rural libraries like ours. CLiF encourages collaboration between public libraries and elementary schools. Our Youth Services Librarian, Marilyn McDowell, has worked throughout the year forging such a collaboration with the Danville School. This grant will not only benefit the library, but the school, as well. It will provide for shared programming, increased materials for our collections and free books for kids. The library will receive early literacy kits for children, ages 0-5 and their families and more ! Thank you Marilyn for writing and submitting the application. Thank you, Lydia Pitkin, Danville School Librarian, and Sarah Welch, Danville Elementary Principal, for your letters of support. It takes a community!
